Fishing was tough with more than half of the boats zeroing out. We caught one nice 26 ¼ fish which was good enough for 19th place and lost another which would have put us in the top 10. Given the weather I am really happy with how the tournament went.
All the fish are pretty well mixed together on 40-20' humps (photo left) over the main lake and the major mouths of creeks. We caught fish on a combination of downline blue backs, lead core and umbrella rigs.
We only saw minor schooling of fish and very short lived topwater action. If you see top water action and the action is gone by the time you get there, try trolling leadcore or umbrella rigs in the general area.
If you mark fish on a hump and return and don't see anything, it may be worth your time to anchor with your i-Pilot over the hump. We saw the Stripers chasing bait back and forth over the humps and would bite nice as then went by.
