For the wonderful fishery I call home, Lake Lanier is still at full pool and the water temperature is 68. The Striper fishing has been good. Top water is in full swing on the south end of the lake. Throwing 4in Sebile magic swimmer fast sinking along with Captain Mack’s 3/8oz super jig with a 3inch shad tail has worked the best.
When casting into the school of Stripers using smaller bait/lures work better as they are keyed in on schools of threadfin shad. I have also caught a good number of fish on weighted and un-weighted free lined trout and herring pulling main lake pockets and points.
As the Lanier continues to cool, look for the Stripers to start pushing into the mouths of the creeks and rivers up north.
See you on the Lake!
