The summer pattern is still active with Stripers in the main channel down 40+ feet over 60-100+ feet of water. The morning bite is strong along with power generation times.
As you can see by the picture, there are some nice schools out there. Driving through a school like this with lead core will almost always produce a hit if not a double.
Almost all of our fish were taken on lead core or downriggers with bucktails jigs.
We ran 4-5 trips every week of July and caught fish on all but 1 trip. The one trip we did not find fish was a late evening trip. The morning trip that day we caught 6 fish and just could not hook up that evening. This goes to show that the Stripers can be active at specific times of the day.
As the weather cools over the next month, the Stripers will disperse throughout the lake and fishing will become more interesting. We are looking forward to the challenges of the changing lake and hope you will join us on a quest for that record Striped Bass.

Hope to see you out on the lake
