With surface water temps almost 90, the Stripers have entered into a full summer pattern. We have had days where we had to work hard for them and other days of 10+ fish on a trip. Most of the bite is on leadcore. Depending on the time of day, moon and sunny/overcast you will find the Stripers in 60-100+ feet of water hanging 30-40 down.
Downline works really well when you get over a school as shown in the picture. It really helps us having an i-Pilot from Minn Kota so you can use the anchor feature and stay right on top of them. If you are trolling, just make multiple passes through the schools and you will sure to get at least one on every pass.
Check out our Summer “It's 5 O'clock Somewhere” Trolling Special. A great way to spend an evening on Lake Lanier.
